Four local educators received awards this week from the Northwestern Ohio Education Association.
Jessee Hankins, a Findlay High School social studies teacher and Findlay Education Association member, received the NWOEA Promising Leader Award. The award recognizes a member who, within the first five years of teaching, has shown initiative in his or her local association.
Wendy Shively and Mike Wilson, both members of the Findlay Education Association, received the NWOEA Local Service Award, which recognizes individuals for outstanding work for their local association.
Shively is a special education teacher at Findlay High School and Wilson is a seventh-grade science teacher at Donnell Middle School.
Sarah Simons, fourth-grade teacher and member of the McComb Teachers Education Association, also received the NWOEA Local Service Award.
