Stock: Shares rose shot up to a record 155.05 shortly after the opening bell in the stock market today, but pared gains to 1.45%, at 151.37. The stock has more than doubled so far in 2017.
Peer New Oriental Education & Technology (EDU) topped estimates Tuesday with EPS of 41 cents and revenue of $486.4 million, comfortably above estimates for 38 cents a share and $478.8 million.
New Oriental Education initially fell Tuesday, but rallied to close slightly higher that day. On Wednesday, New Oriental rose 2.7% to 82.87, just clearing an 82.72 buy point in a cup-with-handle-base. Volume was 20% above normal.
New Oriental fell 0.6% to 82.36 in morning trading Thursday, falling back below the entry.
