The Pelican Education Foundation (PEF) is accepting grant applications from teachers and staff of Klamath Falls City Schools (KFCS), according to a news release.
The Foundation, established in 2011 by a group of education-minded community volunteers, provides scholarships to Klamath Union graduates.
Through alumni and community donations and with sound stewardship, the foundation can now expand its support of the educational process by funding innovative programs and services proposed by KFCS teachers or staff.
The Partnership in Education Grant will award a total of up to $7,000 to applicants proposing programs, projects or actions to students that will enhance their experiences and educational opportunities not funded through traditional sources. The foundation will award a maximum of $1,000 to any one applicant.
Applicants must demonstrate how the proposed project will align with PEF’s vision and mission statements, bring growth and learning to students, and/or help make a positive impact on district students.
Deadline to apply is June 1. The foundation will announce grant winners on June 8, with funded projects implemented during the 2018-19 school year. Grant recipients will present the outcomes of their programs to the PEF board of directors at the conclusion of the 2018-19 school year.
